Today I am grateful for:

Canada Day: Happy birthday to a pretty wonderful country.

Getting some sweeping and cleaning done. We've really backed off of regular cleaning, I suppose because of the mentality that we are going to be moving into another house soon. Today though, I thought we should do a little, since we are still here for now. It's very weird to look around this place where we've lived for 11 years now, and know that soon it just won't be here anymore. It's just a simple home, but it's been our home, and we've done work on it, and improved it, and we've lived and loved here with our animals. I've got lots of good memories in this place, and it gave us the opportunity to live on our acreage. If it had been a nice house with a foundation and everything, we couldn't have afforded it. I am grateful for living here, for the shelter, the space, and it was what we needed.

For our farrier. She's such a thoughtful and considerate farrier. She doesn't lose her temper, she's gentle and confident, and she does a good job. She came to trim the new ponies, and to my surprise it was the mare who stood quietly to be trimmed, after being so worked up whenever I handled her feet. The little stud was the one who was dramatic, after being so quiet for me. Our farrier took off quite a lot of hoof, and now they both have nice, trim little feet. She felt that their feet, in spite of being quite overgrown, looked like they were in decent shape.

For making it to the fireworks in time. It's such a cool thing to see. It was SUPER COLD for July, only about 7 C. I'm glad we dressed for it.

My sweetie made his special spring rolls, which were a nice change.
