Feb. 19th, 2020 12:35 amIt was STILL too cold to ride, so I went to town to get MORE animal food. Jonesy has special urinary tract food that I get from the vet, and some supplement stuff I give River when I ride. I don't know why, but it seems like we ran out of every kind of animal food all at the same time, and I have to go to very different places, sometimes in different towns, to get that food.
I found some very nice scarves for next to nothing at the thrift store (I am a big time scarf hoarder), and a big bag of "junk jewelry". I had a ton of fun sorting through the junk jewelry, and found a couple of things that are NOT junk at all. In fact, I feel very weird that they called it junk. Some of that was FAR too nice to just dump in a bag that maybe someone would buy for a kid to play with. Some silver pendants and bracelet charms, and a couple of "high end" costume jewelry items. A necklace from something called Gas Bijoux. A bracelet with freshwater pearls. A cute pewter cat pin. A gold-colored (?) pendant of a pine cone. The rest of it that I don't want I'm going to either re-donate, or sell for next to nothing for someone who wants fun stuff to give to their kids or take apart.
I am very grateful to have enough money to buy animal food. I know that having all my animals is indeed a special kind of privilege, both in terms of how much free time I can dedicate to their care, and in money to feed and care for them.
For having a good little car, and being able to fill it with fuel, and to drive it where I need to go to get things done, and to enjoy myself. There's a great deal of satisfaction and independence in driving, and I know that that is not something to take for granted.
