Today I am grateful for:

Another gorgeous day.

The joists we took out of the horse pasture sold within hours of posting them on buy and sell. It'll be a few days before the buyer can come get them, but they're sold. We listed them pretty cheap, but it's nice to recoup some money from our efforts.

My sweetie got some work done on the addition, securing the plywood sheets to the joists to make the floor for what will become the second story.

I cleaned for the family that I cleaned for last week. I'm happy to say that the bathrooms were a lot easier to clean this time, and I could get more of the house done today (last week most of my time was spent on two bathrooms). The guy I'm cleaning for seems happy with what I'm doing, and wants me to come back next week to focus on bringing a bunch of decor items down from above the kitchen cabinets, clean them off, clean off the tops of the cabinets, and then he'll decide if he wants to put anything back up there or not.

I like the teen aged daughter in this family. She's actually doing cleaning too, while I'm working, and she asks questions about what I'm doing, and we chat. I think she's really happy that the house is getting cleaned thoroughly. It's very social, and that's kind of nice. I do wear a mask, but we're not standing close either. I miss talking to people.

I was able to just spend some time with the goats and ponies when I got home. It seems like I haven't had any time for just being outside, unless I'm working, for weeks.

I also managed to clean all the cat litter out, and while I had the door open, a lovely moth flew in. We were also able to get it back outside, but so pretty!

We had some beets and zucchini from the garden for supper tonight.

Today I am grateful for:

A beautiful sunny day. This sure has been a great stretch of weather.

Not so much gratitude, but a moment of remembrance for the events of 9/11.

A useful day in town. I picked up the special urinary tract food for Jones, got the mail, paid the bills, went to the dentist to check on a molar (a filling, to be done next week), had a fun time at the thrift store, and got groceries.

I'm very glad that the molar just needs a filling (or so far that's what they think it needs).

I came home and got a bunch of dishes washed and made a fast supper.

Early this morning when I did chores (before I go to bed, because I'm all reversed) it was so beautiful. About 4 am, and all the stars that you don't see during peak summer (because the sun barely goes down behind the horizon, so the sky isn't completely dark) are out again. It was only a half moon, but VERY bright. There was mist hovering around the ground. I sat with the goats and ponies for a while just star gazing and listening to the night sounds of owls and such.

I also noticed that some marks in the wood of our kitchen floor are not random after all. It's a pentagram with a circle in the middle (not around the outside like you'd normally see). You can only really see it if you're looking for it, but when you see it, it's quite clear and it's nicely done. I wonder what the story is; a lot of farmers used to paint pentagram designs for good luck on barns, maybe this is similar. I noticed this the other day while I was sitting on the floor with one of our cats.
