Today I am grateful for:

A little rainy, but not a bad day at all.

My sweetie, continuing to work on the addition. He also fired up the tractor and piled up the compost heap nicely to make room for the manure from the ponies that I will bring all winter.

I got tired of the chunk of carpet in the living room (it was just a raw-edged leftover piece that we used like an area rug) and found a nice rug on the buy and sell, and you know, it really ties the room together. I am now inspired to find an area rug for the dining room to replace the carpet remnant in there.

I enjoyed watching the animals get excited about the area rug, rolling around on it and chasing each other under the papasan chair. I guess it's fun when things are new for them too.

Some friends (a couple) of mine that go wayyy back texted me that K's father passed. He was 86 years old, was in reasonable health overall and not suffering much, and he got to die while still living on their farm. He had been clearing a pile of brush, and his wife went out to check on him and he was dead. Likely a heart attack, but they're not sure yet. While I'm sure there's nothing fun about a heart attack, it was likely over with quickly.

The part that made me grateful, is that they still consider me a close friend even though long stretches go by without us really connecting. Mostly it's just Facebook, but I don't know why we don't call each other more often. I did call them, and I talked to the husband for a while because K was talking to family about arrangements. I miss them.

I also talked to my Mom, and one of my non-train wreck sisters (her adult son is getting a puppy, yay!).

I did some dishes, some laundry, and got my sweetie to help me assemble some shelving for the craft room.
