Today I am grateful for:

Managing to get to the vet clinic before they closed. No one talked to me about what we would do with Fatty once the first meds they gave me for him ran out. Today we ran out, and I called the clinic, and they're like "oh, yeah. He should keep taking it." So I had to make a mad dash to town and by the skin of my teeth made it to the clinic before they closed. I actually had called the clinic last week and asked the vet to call me back about what to do when we ran out of the meds, and he didn't. Not real pleased.

Fatty's appetite wasn't great today. He's eating, but not tons. The vet said we might have some ups and downs with appetite, and not to panic just yet. Okay. I'll try not to panic.

I saw a woman from the riding barn that I used to board River at (she was also at the vet clinic), and we chatted for a while. There's been some upheaval at this other barn; the resident "trainer/young person riding coach" left and took a lot of the young riders with her. The barn owner felt that this trainer wasn't doing enough to give the young jumpers a good riding foundation before putting them over big jumps, and I kinda have to agree. I used to watch these kids jump when they were riding on their own, and there were times that I felt they weren't doing things correctly. In fact, I got in trouble with the barn owner for intervening with one rider that I thought was going to get hurt by riding incorrectly (she nearly caused her horse to fall because she was pulling it's head sharply to one side when jumping). Interesting.

I got groceries since I was already in town. Not a full week since the last trip, but close.

I picked up some DVDs to watch. I had a nice chat with the woman who works there. I see her a lot, so we do usually talk for a while.

I also went into a drug store to buy a fine makeup brush to do eye liner, and had a really nice encounter with a staff member there. She was really sweet, and it was DEAD in there. I think she was so happy to have someone be chatty and pleasant, and buy something. She ended up giving me a bunch of free samples, so that was nice.

I used to wear eye makeup a lot, and I still have tons of eye shadow. The problem is, I'm not that good at putting it on so that it looks nice. Most of the time, it just ends up making my eyes look dirty. I really would like to be able to wear makeup when I feel like it, and have it look nice. Not like I don't get enough sleep, or that clowns played a joke on me.

Another quiet evening at home. I watched "Four Feathers", which was okay.
