Today I am grateful for:

Continued nice weather. We're supposed to be getting a bit colder for a few days, but I enjoyed today.

Going to see River. I forgot my saddle at home because I took it out of the car to make room for groceries the other day, and forgot to put it back in (here isn't enough room at the barn for people to store saddles so I just keep it in the car). So, R was there, and I asked to borrow a bareback pad so I could still ride River. Whoo, is it different! I thought it wouldn't be too different because I ride so much with my seat anyhow, but I was surprised at how much I must be relying on my stirrups for holding my seat correctly! I still managed to keep fairly independent hands, and my balance was okay, but I had to really squeeze that core to do it. I actually managed to walk, trot, and canter, lucky for me River is pretty smooth. What a workout.

Coming home and just having a quiet evening. I watched "Luce" which raised some interesting points, but wasn't a very satisfying ending. Maybe on purpose?
