Today I am grateful for:

It was raining, and there was nothing pressing to do, so I had a fairly lazy day.

My sweetie volunteered to help our friends move furniture and other stuff out of their parent's "extra" house. So, the parent in question is in her 80's, and this "extra" house was her parent's house that was never cleaned out or sold, so this woman and her husband (who died last year) just turned off the power and water, and paid the property tax, but continued to use it as storage as did other family members, until it is literally just jammed full of old sofas and chairs, appliances that don't work, and tons and tons of clothes and old Christmas decorations. My husband said that a lot of it is straight to garbage, so one trailer is for crap, and the other trailer was for potentially sell-able items. Our friends have already taken a few big trailer loads to the dump, and my sweetie and these friends took another load today.

Apparently the house that is the actual house this woman lives in was hoarded up just as badly. I know our friends were taking loads to the dump this winter from it as well. They must be getting pretty tired of hauling out garbage by now.

I went to see River, and we had a lesson today. It went pretty well. It was pouring rain again, so we didn't work outside. We did groundwork, focusing on the shoulder yields that are so hard for him, and on recall (having him come towards me).

I did ride for a little while after the lesson, before the next person.

Came home and had a nap.

Tuesday: It was cool and rainy today.

My sweetie and I picked up the branches from the trees he had to cut down (fell down in the wind), and put them all on the trailer. It will be a few days before they get to the dump, but at least they're picked up.

We burned a big hay bale that had too much dust in it to feed to the horses, and all the built up hay debris from the floor of the barn.

I went to see River, and it was raining so we worked in the indoor arena. It's kind of soothing with the rain falling on the tent-like cover. We had a good ride, and his leg seemed okay.
