Today I am grateful for:

A beautiful warm day.

We took the truck and trailer full of branches from the trees that blew down a while ago to the dump. It was too green to burn at home, and maybe too much material to burn easily.

My sweetie worked on evening out a big patch of open dirt in the back yard from installing the new septic system last year. Once it's level, we can seed it to grass.

I worked on clearing the grass out of a patch of the garden and planting tomato seedlings in it, then bringing the used wood shavings from the ponies/goat's shed to act as a mulch. I also made a similar patch for asparagus roots. I haven't had much luck getting them to live through winter, but I keep trying because I would really enjoy having an asparagus patch.

I also picked up some of the weed piles from around the rose bushes (from clearing grass and weeds a few days ago) and dumped them on the big pile in the bush to rot away harmlessly.

We took the ponies for a walk in the big pasture where the two mares live. We put the mares in a smaller pen so they wouldn't get all in our space because they aren't friends with the ponies yet (they don't live in the same pen). I'm trying to get the ponies used to being led for longer periods of time, and it's good to expose them to this bigger pasture, because if I can drive them, this is where I'd do it.

Dandy was a little excited, but he did fine. He settled down okay after a while. Ursula didn't even seem to notice we were in a different pasture.

Then we drained the turtle tank and scrubbed it, because algae builds up on it pretty badly, and refilled it. It's not a glass tank, it's a big plastic tub normally used for watering livestock.

Then we watched "Tomb Raider", the newest version. We've seen it before, but it's pretty good.
