Continued decent weather. Getting below freezing sometimes at night now.
My sweetie and I went to pick up a pair of french doors from the buy and sell that should work for a project. The tiny upstairs room in the addition butts up against a bedroom upstairs in the existing house. The bedroom window right now opens into the upstairs addition. We hope to take out the window and put in the french doors. Some future person might use the little room for a wardrobe, or a play room or a nursery.
We came home and did a bunch of food preparation so that when we came home from the barn we could pop everything in the oven.
We went to the barn, and that was fun. I showed my sweetie the work River is willing to do at liberty, and practiced, and we also rode.
R was around, and we all chatted a bit.
We had a bunch of cherries that have been in the freezer for a long time, that we made into crisp when we got home, and roasted some vegetables. We did a brown/wild rice mix. I didn't have any crisp, but the other things made a simple Thanksgiving supper.
It wasn't elaborate, but we made it nice by setting the table with our special occasion things.
Then we watched two more episodes of "The Witcher".
Saturday:
Fairly warm weather.
My sweetie got up early to meet a friend. This friend lives a fair distance away, so sometimes they meet half way and have lunch together.
A day to get more things done before winter.
My sweetie and I emptied out the small freezer and defrosted it. It was REALLY built up. Then we tossed anything gross/old. It made a lot of room.
We dug up the potatoes and got them all into the garage for storage. The garage is heated and stays above freezing.
We also dug up the beets. We got some nice ones this year.
We had several bags of cherries that got partly thawed in cleaning out the freezer, so we decided to make some jam out of some of them, and we'll make crisp with the rest. We've made a ton of jam this year.
We watched the first two episodes of "The Witcher". A pretty cool show if you're into fantasy type stuff.
