Today I am grateful for:

A lot less windy than yesterday. Sunny at least.

That the roads weren't too bad. Some ice and snow cover, since the wind has been blowing all that new snow across the roads, but not big drifts.

I went to see River, and it was SO NICE to get out. He was nice and relaxed today, no moose out there stirring everyone up, I guess. He did really well on our groundwork and Liberty, and good in ridden work too. We practiced our pole picking, and on the third round, we did really well. He didn't break from the canter, I got each pole in the barrel without dropping it, and I didn't knock over any pylons. Too bad THAT wasn't our competition round (at some TBA time, we are having some kind of competition).

It's colder tonight, so I did an extra check on Brownie to make sure she was still warm enough, and she seemed fine in her jacket. If she seems cold, I can move her into the garage until the temperatures are better.

I watched the 2009 film "I, Don Giovanni", which was quite good.

Today I learned of the existence of classified aircraft used to shuttle people around for the military, referred to as Janet (The fleet's "Janet" call sign is said to stand for "Just Another Non-Existent Terminal" or "Joint Air Network for Employee Transportation").

From Wikipedia: anet, sometimes called Janet Airlines, is the unofficial name given to a highly classified fleet of passenger aircraft operated for the United States Department of the Air Force[1] as an employee shuttle to transport military and contractor employees. Its purpose is to pick up employees at their home airports and take them to their places of work. Then, in the afternoon, they take the employees back to their home airports. The airline mainly serves the Nevada National Security Site (most notably Area 51 and the Tonopah Test Range) from a private terminal at Las Vegas's Harry Reid International Airport.[2]

I don't think there's anything conspiracy theory or particularly classified about these planes, it's just a way to move people around without having to have their names on a flight list, likely to keep some things secret, but also to protect valuable people.
