Oct. 30th, 2019 11:51 pmBlocking off the dining room with a plastic drop sheet seems to be making it possible to keep the living room and kitchen a lot warmer. I did that last night, because we aren't even using the dining room right now (full of boxes), and heat is more important. The living room is staying at room temperature tonight, which seems almost ridiculously luxurious.
The wind has died down a bit. It was pretty nice today and yesterday. Before that it was all high winds, icy cold, snow, and just awful.
My sweetie made some more progress in putting in another important weight-bearing beam that will support the addition.
I had a good riding lesson on River. He felt forward and ready to work, so we did. We worked on circles, which though it is ridiculous to have been working with this trainer this long and NOT have correction on this throughout (sure, we've worked on them before, but if you're coaching a student for a show, and you see poor circles, wouldn't you mention it?), we at least did some work on it today. My riding friend ALSO got heavily penalized on her tests for poor circles, so that's what she worked on in her lesson too. I'm hoping that our TRAINER recognizes this as a deficiency in her coaching.
It was nice to be around the other people at the barn, to talk to a woman who got some back surgery and is experiencing relief, to joke around a bit. Everyone needs a group to connect with.
Coming home to a warm living room and kitty snuggles.
