Today I am grateful for:

Sunshine, even if it was only barely above zero and not really melting the snow.

Getting more pony poop picked up as it is revealed by thawing.

The furnace guys continuing to work. I never in a million years would have thought it would have taken this long to put in a heating system. Isn't it a strange thing, to have people who randomly show up at your house while you're asleep, access your basement via a window, and bang around in there, and they don't even bother letting you know any more when they're coming, and the dog doesn't blink an eye, and you are actually just used to it now? Maybe I'll miss them when they're finished.

Talking with my trainwreck sister. She seems to be still okay for money, for now. I guess I'm grateful for that. I'm pissed off at her because as predicted, the cats she brought in have now been kicked outside to fend for themselves. She had said she was going to get them fixed, and somehow it never happened. Likely she just didn't have the money, then didn't have the money to keep feeding them or getting litter, and she's made up a bunch of bullshit "reasons" why they got kicked out. This has happened so many times now, and each time she gets a cat, or a dog, I have to just know right from the beginning that it will end badly. She never remembers what it was like to own them last time, always sees the past with rosy glasses where she thinks she took good care of them, that they were no problem to look after, and she "loved them so much!!!". The reality is that she likes babies. Kittens and puppies, when they're tiny and can't get pregnant and won't wreck anything. Then they get older, and they try to play in that hoarded shithole she lives in, and she should be getting them fixed, but she can't, and she just kicks them outside or chains them up until they're insane. If anyone asks her though, she is a model pet owner, always takes good care of them, would NEVER let them come to harm, etc. etc.

A good phone conversation with my Mom. I'm so sorry that she has to be so isolated right now. Her life is so small to begin with.

My sweetie and I went for a walk down the road with Roxy. It's not as nice as being able to go to the little park down the road, but it's still outside.

For finding a site online for learning world geography. I'm enjoying it, it's something I've always meant to do is to have a lot more of the countries, rivers, lakes etc. of the world memorized, as it would make it easier to understand history and politics, and some novels.
