Apr. 26th, 2020 01:08 amSunshine, and warm enough to walk around in a shirt.
Being able to wear "town clothes" today, for maybe the first time in a month.
Finding all the seeds I need for the garden easily. I tend to plant the same things every year, and the same varieties (I've figured out what likes to grow here, what I've had success with), and having the means to buy what I needed.
Buying some materials for work on the basement. It's to build a utility room. I'm glad to see some plans for progress.
My sweetie took a load of shingles to the dump before I got up, and picked up some more of the scrap metal in the yard. He's trying to put together a load of scrap metal to take in and sell at a dealer. Every bit of progress feels good to me.
Getting a REALLY BIG load of groceries. Almost ridiculous, but my husband was picking up groceries on his way home from work the last couple of weeks, but all he was really getting was fresh fruit and veggies, bread, milk, and eggs. We were low on all kinds of things like pickles, cereal, my tasty things (olives, kimchi), pitas, veggie burgers, as well as the fresh food. Now we should be good again for a few weeks, though he might need fresh stuff. He takes a big container of fresh veg. to work every day and snacks on it all day long. It means he has to buy groceries for himself every week just to keep up with the fresh veggies. I felt good about how careful this store was to enforce social distancing (another store I was at today was not, and I was freaking out).
We got a pressure washer, which I've been wanting for washing the vehicles (I generally don't bother washing them at a car wash, and if I wash them at home it's laborious with just a regular garden hose because we get caked on mud from driving on dirt roads), and we will need it for some of the work around the yard/house with ongoing construction and clean up.
I'm grateful that for the most part, I've been able to stay home and isolate. I know not everyone is able to do this, and while it's driving me nuts, I also recognize that it is a privilege to be able to stay in the comfort of our home.
I'm grateful that with the warm weather comes projects that I can work on. The garden, cleaning up the yard, hopefully getting more done on the house.
