Apr. 27th, 2020 04:38 amNice weather. It makes all of this isolation easier, to be able to go outside and it's nice out, and the snow is gone.
A good ride on River. He was a bit spooky at one point, then after that we got some good work done. He was reasonably comfortable with the walk/canter transitions today, so I didn't do too many of them. No need to over-do it if he does it correctly.
Being able to let the ponies and goats out to the bigger pasture now. I know they enjoy the freedom and the chance to graze. I really enjoy being with them and walking around and watching them play.
A decent conversation with my train wreck sister. She sounds like she's trying to come up with a plan for the summer, which is the most I've heard her sound like she's trying to do something since her partner died in December. I know that's not very long ago, and it's not like I expect her to be out of mourning, but they didn't have a ton of money, and she needs to find a way to support herself. She's been talking about doing yard work now that it's spring, and I know she can do that well. She has been selling things too, and that helps. I'm wondering if this will help her with her hoarding issues, because she is finally having to deal with her hoard herself. She needs to move, but she has to deal with a giant shop full of stuff, and a house full of stuff too. Most of my family is now physically unable to help her, or unwilling to do this again. No one has stepped forward and offered to help her clear her stuff. She has been selling things, and she recently took a whole truck load of those plastic pots that plants come in to the Hutterite colony (they reuse them in their green house). She actually seems like she might be ready to start dealing with it herself.
Doing a bit of work in the basement when we got home from the riding barn. We hung a couple of sheets of drywall where the utility room will be, and I painted a two sheets of plywood that will become walls in that room.
A nice walk around the horse pasture with Roxy.
Russell Brand had a new "Under the Skin" on YouTube, with Ricky Gervais that I enjoyed. I listened to it while doing a bit of painting.
