Today I am grateful for:

Lots of talking on the phone. I've been worried about Mom, so I talked to two of my sisters, which did kind of help.

Talking to a friend of ours that lives in the city nearby, and we talked about our stresses. It was kind of nice in a way, to hear that she's human and has problems sometimes too. She's a veterinarian, and in some ways is one of those "really together" people. She's always been a very honest and down to earth person, and in the last few years, I've started thinking of her as a friend, not just my husband's friend (she and her husband have been friends with my sweetie since high school). She's been going through a legal battle with her former business partner for the last three years, and it is finally all settled. She's now facing the challenge of re-entering the work force to work for someone else after formerly being the boss, and that's likely going to be a difficult transition for her.

Again, that we live in Canada. My Mom has been recovering in the hospital for the last few days from a very bad episode of low sodium, due to a combination of medications and drinking too much water, and some complications from a bladder infection. There's no way we could have cared for her this way without socialized health care.

My niece had a daughter today, and it sounds like all is well with them both.

Putting on a burst of productivity, in spite of not feeling like it at all. I did the dishes, made some hummus, vacuumed the two area rugs, mopped the kitchen floor, and took some wool sweaters outside to air in the sun (to protect against wool moths). When my sweetie got home from work, we hooked up the garden hose, I found the spray nozzle, and we worked up a row in the garden and planted radishes. That was a life-affirming act.

The province is beginning to loosen restrictions due to Covid, though I'm not sure we should. The riding barn is going back to having two people in the barn at a time, which might be nice. She's going to start doing single person lessons again, too.

A nice pasture walk with my sweetie and Roxy.
