Today I am grateful for:

Umm...only SOME rain? We have had SO MUCH RAIN that the yard hasn't been dry at all since winter. There's been standing water in our yard the whole time, the ponies and goats spend most of their time on one small spot in their pen where I put some concrete blocks to give them a dry spot, and so on. It's maddening. At least so far we're not flooding.

Getting some sleep last night.

Going to see River. I forgot there were lessons again on Thursdays, so I couldn't use the arena, so instead I just gave River some extra feed (issues again with hay at the barn) and took him out for some hand grazing.

It was quite social, I saw a couple of people there that I like chatting with. One woman who comes to feed her elderly gentleman horse extra feed every day is willing to help feed River too. That is very kind of her.

We tried to go for a nice walk in a park nearby, and the mosquitoes were SO BAD that we kind of gave up and went home. It was good to at least be outside for a while when it wasn't raining.

Some teens that are visiting their grandparents (who live right next to us) were walking along our road, and I could tell they were looking at the horses in the pasture, so I invited them to come in and meet everyone. We had a good visit, they seemed to enjoy meeting the ponies, goats and the horses, and we gave them an armful of fresh rhubarb for baking. They seemed like really nice kids, not afraid of getting muddy (which is an asset in our yard right now), and very respectful.

Coming home and having a nice supper together, and watched some more Game of Thrones.

Wednesday:

This kind of felt like one of those days where you can't get anything done, you started too late, it's not quite working, etc.

I at least managed to go to town and get groceries, and I'm always grateful to be able to get groceries.
