Today I am grateful for:

Sunshine, and a true summer day.

My sweetie, helping me measure for some shelves we got, to see where they'll go upstairs so I can finally organize my craft room. The shelves I had in the trailer are too tall for the old-fashioned rooms upstairs.

I was able to hang some clothes outside to air. I keep finding evidence of clothes moths, so I'm doing lots of washing, and hanging items outside in the sun.

A good ride on River. We rode in the outdoor arena, nothing requiring much contact because of him getting his teeth done. Just lots of loose stretching and trotting mostly.

Lots of people around for lessons. I'm really surprised at how many kids and parents were in the barn. Too many. This could not be considered practicing safe distancing at all. I didn't stay in the barn, I saddled up outside and rode outside, and I have to say I'm not happy with that many people being packed together. An outbreak there would shut everything right down, not to mention that we're trying not to get sick, thank you very much!

There's finally hay bales again for River. The owner was using up the last of last year's hay, and was delayed in getting this year's hay, so she was feeding hay cubes. Hay cubes are fine as a hay replacement, but I don't know if she really feeds enough to replace the hay. I doubt she was feeding them 15 to 20 pounds of cubes per horse per day, and she was just dumping the cubes in the mud for them to eat, because she doesn't have troughs (normally they get round bales). I was going every day to feed River extra feed and to keep an eye on his weight because I just don't trust the whole thing with cubes, the way she was doing it. I was taking him out to graze for about half an hour or so each time I went too.

Nice to visit with one younger woman, who I see fairly regularly.

Doing a bit of cleaning and organizing at home.
