Today I am grateful for:

Finally getting to ride River. It's been so hot it hasn't been humane, and if I did ride, it was very slow and no cantering. The heat broke and today was pretty moderate, so I rode.

Giving some of the bee hive and some honey to the barn owner's kids. They are obsessed with things like mushrooms, rocks, nests, and bee hives, and whenever I find something interesting for them I give it to them. They ask me just about every time they see me if I have something for them. I think they were pretty interested in the hive I brought.

Having a quiet evening at home. I watched "Victoria and Abdul" which was fascinating. It's based on the true story of Queen Victoria and the friendship she had with an emissary from India. Apparently it had been hushed up and people tried to erase the evidence of that friendship when she died, but Abdul kept a journal, and his story came to light again. A beautiful movie.

I watched "The Man Who Cried' last night, and that too was a remarkably good movie.
