Today I went to clean for a family that put out a call for a cleaner on the local buy/sell page. I had gone to their home this past Tuesday to do an estimate. So, today I cleaned for them. It was fine. It's sure been a while since I've cleaned for anyone, and it's kind of a mental challenge to sort out how you're going to do it and be efficient. I'm not sure if they need me for an ongoing cleaner, the guy who owns the house seemed funny about the fact that I only wanted to clean in the afternoon, I guess because they would be home, and maybe he feels awkward about that? For now anyhow, he wanted me to help clean because they were having a surprise birthday party for his girlfriend in a few days. I had to swallow my thoughts about social distancing (I wore a mask, and wasn't standing next to anyone in the house while I was there), but it's also kind of nice that he's a musician, and a bunch of their musical friends were getting together to jam. I know they were going to do some of it outside; all of it if the weather held up.
I kind of messed around with paper marbling when I got home, and that was fun.
Our pottery studio sent out an email, and it looks like they might actually reopen, with a lot of strict rules about how many people can be in the studio (they might have a schedule), and cleaning protocols, and masks, and taking temperatures, and so on. It's not a for sure thing yet by any means, but they are trying, and that's hopeful.
