Oct. 5th, 2020 01:23 amMy sweetie and our friends continuing to work on the addition. They got some of the shingles on the roof today.
I dug out a light blanket for River, because pretty soon we're going to need it. I went to visit him, and it was very relaxing. He's in a good sized pasture now, with lots of grass and some bush, and he gets to move around like a real horse now instead of being in a small corral. He looks like he's maybe put on a little weight.
I didn't "work" with him, my ankle isn't up to it yet. Instead, we walked around the outdoor arena, and watched the owner (R), drive her pony in a cart, and later work with another pony. I'm glad we got to see this, because some horses really freak out at carts if they've never seen them, and I wanted to expose him to the cart in a fairly neutral situation. River was pretty chill about it, so that's good. River was calm in the outdoor arena, and very relaxed, and it was good just to connect with him. It was also nice just to chat with R.
It was fun to see her driving her pony, it was a lovely antique pony cart that she and her father restored.
Just chilling again when I came home.
