Today I am grateful for:

My cleaning gig. I'm finding G to be a reasonable person to work for, he seems happy with what I'm doing, and his house isn't frustratingly dirty or hard to clean. It's kind of nice because part way through my cleaning, his daughter comes home from school, and she's nice, and then G comes home from work and usually sits in the living room and plays the guitar and sings. They also usually talk with me a bit while I'm working, and sometimes when I'm done for the day I sit with G and talk for a while. I've had some other cleaning jobs where it was chatty too, I think it's nice for everyone to make some nice small talk. It's probably nice for the people who hire cleaners if the cleaner is cheerful and chatty, it makes it more comfortable.

Then I went to see River, and I brought him into the barn and he hung out in a box stall (there were some other horses in there waiting their turn for lessons). I think he really likes the box stall. It was kind of windy and crappy outside, and he seemed pleased to be inside for a while. I watched some of the lessons, it's more liberty work which is really interesting. I like how most of the time there are people around in the evening. It's social, and it means I likely won't have to ride by myself.

I was really tickled that a person from the old barn called me to see how River was doing. This person had actually left the old barn at nearly the same time I did, and for similar reasons. We chatted about her adventure of taking care of her horse and a few others at her home (she is living with her boyfriend, who is a farmer and built a pasture for her), and about the new barn I'm at. We both felt like moving our horses was for the best, because neither one of our horses was doing well at the old barn. It was really great that she called, and I'm hoping this means we can keep in touch outside of the context of being at the barn.

My sweetie got to have a fairly lazy day today. He got to sleep in, didn't need to go anywhere, and took it easy because the work on the house continues tomorrow. When I got home, we watched "The Gentlemen", and that was pretty good.
