Today I am grateful for:

Fairly nice weather still. October can be tricky.

My sweetie allowed himself to get a full night's sleep before going to work this evening (he works night shift). He had been getting up after only four hour's sleep to work on the roof some days, but now that the shingles are done, he can relax a bit.

My sweetie helped me with chores before he went to work.

I went to see River. I finally felt like my ankle, though not perfect, would hold up enough to ride. He was a little fresh, because I haven't ridden him in about six weeks, but he behaved well and we rode in the outdoor arena with some other riders. His breathing was fine.

I stayed to watch another person's lesson in the covered round pen, and as always it was interesting and I learned something. If nothing else, it's nice to watch people working their horses, and participate in something social, because I am so starved for social connection right now. We distance and wear masks, and there's only ever about three people total in the little arena, so we're being cautious.

A nice quiet evening at home reading, after a nice bath.
