Today I am grateful for:

Getting up "early" so we could go to the city wasn't too awful.

I found a halter for River that should hopefully fit him. The barn owner, R, asked if I could get a certain style of halter for him because it's easier for her to use in the winter with gloves, when she needs to halter him for various reasons.

We got to the art gallery in good time, and they had a really good display of "Group of Seven" works, and people who were contemporaries. You see a lot of "Group of Seven" in our neck of the woods. I was quite happy to see two wood cut prints by Walter J. Phillips, I have a book of his work at home and it was neat to see some of his work in person. I never expected to see his work in a gallery near us.

As it turns out, my sweetie misinterpreted the parking designation on the street outside the art gallery, and our vehicle got towed. Yes, it really sucks, BUT I was grateful that the impound was still open and we could get our car back right away. It would have been a horrible inconvenience if we couldn't get it until Monday. We would have had to find someone willing to drive into the city to come get us, because we have to be home to look after the animals. Then we would have had to come back to get the car, and we live a little over an hour away. I'm grateful that the fine wasn't too horrible, and that we had the means to pay it. In the short time we were standing around in the cold, I just couldn't feel anything but how much privilege we have, when there were so many homeless people walking around trying to keep warm. Edmonton is not a place to be homeless.

We grabbed a burrito and that went down nicely.

A good evening at home, watching an older, very silly movie called "Evolution".
