Today I am grateful for:

The temperatures are generally above freezing now, and that feels so good, just to be outside. It's wonderful to just be able to walk around in the horse pasture (most of the snow is gone) and not have to fight the snow. It's nice just to be able to sit outside with the animals, or to work in my sweetie's shop with the big door open, or to get to see the dirt in the garden again.

For just doing useful puttering today, getting lots of little things done. We walked around the horse pasture with Roxy, and cut down the little poplar shoots that were growing in a way that would interfere with the fence.

Then, we put our name on all our pottery tools, because it's pretty easy for people to pick up your tools by mistake; we all use the same things.

We dewormed the horses, and spent some time really brushing them out. Right now, they're shedding, and they always look shaggy and dusty this time of year. We brushed out piles and piles of hair. Nice nesting material for the birds.

I'm grateful we could live on an acreage, and have animals, and yard work. Maybe not everyone would enjoy the jobs, but when they aren't scary emergencies, it's nice to have meaningful physical work to do. It's nice to have a connection to the seasons, and to animals and plants.

My sweetie made his signature chick pea spicy stuff, and that was a great meal.
