Today I am grateful for:

Very warm temperatures again for this time of year.

That soon we will be at the shortest day of the year, and THEN the days will get longer. Right now, it is dark by 5 pm. After December 21 the days will get two minutes longer each day. That may not seem like a lot, but by the end of January it's really noticeable, and it helps with morale.

I had to scramble to go see River today, because the barn owner R is doing her best to comply with Covid restrictions and to keep us safe by limiting the arena to one person/people from same household for now. Most of the lessons are from 5pm to 8pm, and I used to just share the arena with those lessons, but now I have to come in early and be finished by 5 pm. That might not SEEM like a tough thing to do, but because my sweetie is working nights, my rhythm is the same as his, meaning we go to bed about 7 am and get up at 2 or 3 pm (yup, I know). So, I have to get up, get ready, feed the animals, and drive there. If he can, my sweetie will feed everyone for me.

I had a good ride with River. We again worked on the leading, yielding to pressure, etc. It was nice to actually be there during the day a bit.

I came home and read, and napped.

I went through some sweaters to check for those pesky wool moths, since for the last two years I've had problems with them, and I keep seeing the moths (its the larvae that eat the wool), just one here, one there. I did find one plastic tub with some eggs/larvae, so I took those sweaters outside to hang in the cold. It still gets fairly cold at night, so a few days outside should kill the eggs.

Then I darned some holes in a different sweater.

Yup, they've done some damage.
