Dec. 16th, 2020 04:48 amIt didn't feel too cold today.
I went to town to get groceries, and that went well. Once again, I am kind of blown away by how much it costs to feed just two people for about a week. Yes, there's always some food that lasts longer than the week, but overall it costs a fair bit of money to feed us. Not buying meat probably helps, but I also have a weakness for things like olives and pesto, and that adds up. At least what we're eating is mostly what I think of as "real" food. Lots of veggies, less processed foods. I bought a few extra items for the food bank, because it seems like they need more donations because of Covid.
I am grateful for being able to buy groceries, to have a decent vehicle, and the bodily ability to shop. Getting groceries can be pretty arduous. Especially hauling it all into the house and putting it away.
I did go to Winner's too, and found a nice tree topper ornament. I haven't had a proper one for a while now. It's a big beaded snow flake. I found some shot glasses and a form for making a fancy round ice cube for my sweetie for Christmas. I am mostly making his presents (he wants some leather cases for tools), but I do want a few things for him that are a surprise. I also found some workout bands meant for hips/legs which I was hoping to find, because I've been a little bit sore in my hips lately. Likely because I just haven't been getting enough exercise.
A quiet evening at home. I tried the bands, and that felt good. I spent a fair amount of time watching one of our cats (Sprite) in deep sleep, twitching her paws and her face. I watched another episode of Lexx (BRAINS!), and a Luminary podcast with Russell Brand and Annie Lennox. For anyone who's a fan of good podcasts, Under the Skin is on Luminary, but you can listen to a few for free to see if it's something you'd like. I really enjoy them.
