Today I am grateful for:

Sunshine, even though it's cold now.

Going to see River, and discovering that apparently there's now an exemption Covid-wise that there can be two people in the arena now. That's nice, because I like riding with others, and socially it's good. Today there was another person at the barn. She didn't come into the arena (because it's unheated and pretty cold right now) with me, but I braved the cold.

I did a lot of ground work today, and kept warm by jogging with River a bit. Then I did ride for a while, and I didn't get too cold. I didn't do a lot of work with him, because at these temperatures you don't want to get the horse sweaty and then put them back outside.

It was good to work with him. He was staying with me really well on the ground today. At one point I looped the lead rope over his neck so I wasn't "leading" him, and he stayed with me at a walk, a trot, and over poles.

A quiet evening at home. I had a nap, then worked on the painting some more while watching episodes of "Dead Like Me".
