Today I am grateful for:

Much better temperatures. Only -8C today.

For my sweetie taking the time to thaw out the horse waterer (it froze up again last night, and it shouldn't have because he replaced the heat tape, and it really wasn't that cold).

Nice to be outside today doing normal chores. The last nearly two weeks it's just been go do what I have to do, then get back inside. Today was nice enough in spite of the wind to take my time a bit.

I actually had a lesson at the barn! We did groundwork, focusing on correctly doing the obstacles (going over a tarp, a pile of pool noodles, over a box to represent a bridge, around barrels at a trot, side pass over a pole, drag a pole, stand while shaking a pair of milk jugs, and ground-tying). It was about finesse, so being straight during stops, no fidgeting or backing up, etc. It was nice to be around people, and River was relaxed and listening even though the wind was snapping the skin/tarp of the arena, and snow was sliding off of it.

A quiet evening at home, kitty snuggles, and watched a movie called "The Burnt Orange Conspiracy" that was pretty good.
