Apr. 10th, 2019 12:32 amA really beautiful, sunny day. The mud is drying up a bit now, and I'm starting to see some insects. I think I heard the first few frogs singing.
Saying hi to River just long enough to feed him and his friend.
Getting groceries, and still sticking to the lower glycemic food concept. I'm trying to cut sugar out as much as feasible, and highly processed food. It's amazing how much sugar there is in food that seemed healthy to me. Most granola bars, most cereal, a lot of condiments, obviously fruit juice is a no-go, but even plain milk has a lot of natural sugar that places it in the not so low glycemic range (so not something to consume a lot of per day), and most noodles and pasta are too processed to be "good" every day foods. So, it's not just obvious junk foods like chips and soda that are an issue. I have to say, my energy levels have been good, and more even.
A good pottery class. My mug sets came out, and they look great. I finished glazing my jug, so we'll see how that turns out in a few days. My ridiculously giant bowl survived trimming, so one more step that it lived through.
I made a quick n'dirty vase-ish vessel for another potter as a demo, and it was kind of weird how big a deal everyone made out of me throwing a vase quickly. I know that right now, I'm almost the only person throwing taller vessels, but I've been really working on this for about two years now. I SHOULD be good at it. It was a weird feeling, to have people watching me throw and be so excited. I felt a bit like a celebrity, and it was strange. I am grateful to be able to (hopefully) help someone to throw, so they can make what they want to make.
Coming home to my sweet animals.
