Mar. 24th, 2021 02:53 amOkay weather for this time of year.
A phone call with my Mom. I think her memory loss is causing her a lot of worry, because she isn't sure about things like how her finances are going (she's okay, I talked to another family member), or whether or not her thermostat is working properly (she doesn't trust the thermometer because she still feels cold). I know she gets phone calls from family, but she doesn't remember whether or not anyone called her, so often she will say no one has called when I know they have. It must be awful to be so uncertain all the time.
That my sweetie is finally willing to be a bit more assertive with the bank. We've been trying to get a mortgage to help us finish the house for two years now. The bank has just kept putting us off, wanting a pay stub, then a tax return, then an inspection, then drawings, and on and on. We talk to a woman who only takes our information to a board for meetings, so she'll ask us for something. It takes us a week to get it to her. Then it takes her a week to have the board look at it when they have a meeting. Then it takes her a week to get back to us. One would have thought you would get a list of requirements, then you could just bang, bang, bang get all the paperwork and give it to a loans person. Nope. Two years of back and forth, and I'm done. I asked my husband to talk to the bank manager, because there's just something very wrong with this process. So he at least talked to someone today, who is apparently going to look into it. I feel that if we don't get a proper answer, then it's time to start going to other banks. We literally could not make any real progress on the house at all last summer because we didn't have the money to go ahead. We are now getting geared up for building season, and no money again.
I went to go see River, and that went well. He was quite relaxed and did well with the in hand work. I rode for a while too. It was a nice mental break.
I came home and watched "Kajillionaire" which was really good.
