Today I am grateful for:

Getting the rest of the garden planted. We're about a week late, but it should be okay. We watered everything quite thoroughly.

It's been quite warm the last few days. We don't often get that kind of summer heat so early.

We went to see River, and I went easy on him again because of the heat. We did ground work, and gentle riding.

The barn owner R is taking on a foster horse. That means any expenses for the horse are paid by the rescue (though R has lots of pasture for her), and R will donate her time working with the horse to train it. It's a young horse, around 2 years old, and it already seems to like people so that's a good start.

Monday May 31

We went into the city today. My sweetie needed some parts for the computer. He found fans, but no video card. Apparently there's a dearth of them right now.

I managed to get into the art supply store zippy quick for a few things before it closed.

We went to the previously loved book store, and found a few things.

We walked around a nice older neighborhood with big trees, to look at the siding on houses and make sure we liked the color we've been thinking about doing on our own place. I also really enjoy walking in nice old neighborhoods with yards and trees. If we end up living in a city at some point again, I'd prefer to live in one of these areas if it's possible. To me, this is still what a home should be like if you can manage it.

We went to a Home Depot and I picked up some simple bedding plants fairly reasonably. I basically bought their loss leaders in the six packs. Simple standards like marigolds and pansies and geraniums.

We came home and watched the second "Sicario" which was okay, but had more or less the same message as the first one.
