Jun. 17th, 2021 12:41 amA warm day, but not HOT. Nicer this way.
My sweetie went with the truck and trailer to pick up a couple of pallets of brick that we bought through the buy and sell. It saved a fair bit of money to buy it this way. They're even still new bricks that some landscapers were selling. It's all the same kind of brick, but whenever they do a job they often have small amounts left over, so they consolidated them. I wonder if they already got paid for them once from the person who contracted them. We're planning to make brick walkways.
I went to see River. We had a good lesson today. We went through the obstacle course, and we're doing well with it. Then we did part of the lesson in the arena, riding. That was good too. River is carrying himself better, and I have to work on making my left side stronger, and to keep looking up and ahead, not down.
There were other people around, so I got to visit with them outside. That was nice and social.
I came home and let the ponies and goats and Wonder out for a while on grass (ponies and Wonder have to have limited access to pasture).
Then I worked in the garden for a while, pulling more grass out from around the perennials, and watering the vegetable garden.
My sweetie mowed while I was at the lesson, using the push mower since our ride on is STILL in the shop. I felt badly for him, as that's gruelling work with our big area.
I'm grateful for being able to take lessons, and to have found a good trainer that also cares a lot about the horses, and has a clean, well-managed property. I appreciate her knowledge and dedication.
I'm grateful for my sweetie jumping into the yard work.
I'm grateful for our animals at home, and for living in such a nice place. I enjoy the sounds of birds, the little frogs everywhere, and the peacefulness.
Tuesday:
My sweetie went to help our friends again, to haul another boat/trailer out of our friend's Mom's yard.
We went to another friend's place, to pick up our big trailer we lent him. His garage burnt down a little while ago, and he needed the trailer to haul away the mess. He gave us the tour of his beautiful house that he and his wife have built together. It's really unique.
I found bricks on the buy and sell for a good price.
