Jun. 19th, 2021 01:07 amA pretty nice day. Warm, not hot.
My sweetie and I went to the city for a fun day, since it's been forever since we just did something for enjoyment.
We did swing by the giant animal supply store and found grazing muzzles for the ponies. I've been trying to make do with horse muzzles, but they're super awkward. Ponies can easily get obese, or gorge on green grass and develop a condition called laminitis, which is inflammation, and can damage their hooves. SO, I limit their time on the pasture grass, and muzzles will slow down their intake.
We made a quick trip to the previously loved book store, and found a few things. We got a trade in for some books we brought in. We're doing our best to keep supporting this small local chain of book stores.
I got to go to a thrift store while my sweetie went to donate blood (he is very diligent about donation). I Found three nice items of clothing, two awesome bracelets, and some books.
We went to the local "Art Walk" though it was indoors this year. It's an event where local artists all display their work, mostly for sale. It kind of sucks that you had to pay a fee ($5, nominal I know, but when it was outside on the sidewalk it was free), but they had to do it in a building this year to meet Covid restrictions, since I guess the authorities felt that there was no way to monitor interactions with people.
Anyhow, it was interesting, and we chatted with some of the artists, and there was some really nice work there.
Then we went to see River. I got him some zinc oxide for his poor pink nose, since he was burning a bit. We worked on outdoor obstacles and then rode in the outdoor arena.
