Today I am grateful for:

It's been really hot still. Part of me is hoping for cooler weather and rain, yet part of me is kind of happy to have actual summer weather. Yes, it's a little too hot, but there have been summers here where all it did was rain, or never really even got a hot day.

My sweetie picked up a used kayak, and visited his Uncle K again (he's dying). I know it's hard on my sweetie to see his uncle like this, but I'm glad he's able to see him.

He also picked up some building supplies.

I had a riding lesson, and it was too hot to work hard, but we did ground work, some review of basic principles, and we worked on loading in the trailer. We didn't load him today, just worked on getting him to relax and get his feet up, etc. He has a lot of stress about loading. So do I.

Then I came home, and my sweetie had just gotten home. We went to the lake to try out the kayak, and I took the one I've had for a few years. The one he got is a little tricky. I think it's supposed to be fast, but it isn't easy to keep straight because of how it's designed.

The neighbor lady and her grand kids that talked to us a while ago when we were out with the ponies were at the lake (small world). We let the kids paddle a bit (they had life jackets) in our kayaks right close to the shore where it's very shallow. We might meet up with them and do some more another day.

Then I watched "Hotel Artemis" which is pretty good.
