Mar. 20th, 2021 04:36 amA day of great peace.
Warm weather, sunshine, snow melting.
I spent a couple of hours outside with the ponies and goats, watching them play and graze in the bigger pen. I thoroughly combed through Wonder's (one of the mares at home) thick, long mane and tail. It doesn't get all that tangled, but I hardly do it over the winter because it always seems too cold, or dark to do it all. I also need a spray de-tangler, and that doesn't work in the winter. I just love combing her out.
I tried a tiny bit of the liberty work, basically just yielding laterally and downward in the halter, with Dandy (one of the ponies, not handled much when we got them), and he was quite willing. This gives me some hope for these wild little creatures.
I came in and had a nap, and then re-watched "Ironman" which is an excellent movie.
When I went back out to do night chores, the entire sky was lit up with Northern Lights. I was lamenting to my sweetie recently that I haven't seen any at all this winter. Usually we see SOME. Tonight was amazing. Just waves and waves of light. It wasn't too cold, so I sat with the ponies/goats and watched the lights for about an hour.
