Mar. 19th, 2021 05:09 amContinued beautiful weather for March. Most of our snow has melted.
Spending about an hour just sitting outside with the ponies/goats, watching them graze the dead grass from last year in the little pasture (they stay in a smaller pen most of the time for safety and to control pony access to grass). Roxy had a grand time eating poop and rolling in puddles.
Having a lesson at the barn. We reviewed groundwork, and moved on to new groundwork of moving the shoulders over. We also worked on reducing any tension he might have during bridling, and did some gum massage that he seemed to really enjoy. R felt that he was really releasing a lot of tension (which is good) in the form of big yawns and eye movements, and he needed some time just to stand there and process everything. So, I just hung out while the other rider did some work, and let him zone out. A lot of the work I do with R is about body work with the horse; looking at tension and imbalances and how to address them.
Coming home and having a quiet evening. I watched a movie about Thomas Edison and Westinghouse as they competed for success in having their home electricity systems being used (The Current War). I thought it was pretty good.
Wednesday: I worked on painting, and listened to some good episodes of "Under the Skin".
Tuesday: I went to see River, and rode while R was working with another horse. Also painted.
Monday: My sweetie and I did go to town and had to stop at several places for animal food. We also got groceries. I'm glad we went biking yesterday, because it really would have been hard to bike today and still do all the errands.
