Jun. 27th, 2021 05:39 amA less stressful day mentally. We got the bales out of the way, I got posting the video out of the way, my sweetie and I are amicably working out making sure he can see his parents while they're visiting his Uncle K, while minimizing my involvement, and my brother in law's memorial service did not end up feeling like it required my presence.
We sold another thing from our buy and sell listings. I'm pretty happy with all of this so far. Yes, it's a lot of work dealing with the buyers, but we are selling things that are just taking up space, and I feel like there's a certain energy to the idea of stagnant things becoming renewed by serving a new purpose for someone else.
It was quite hot again today. At least I didn't have to do a lot of physical effort in the sun.
We went to our friends' place and borrowed some equipment from them. A quad and a lawn sweeper, because when they mowed yesterday, there was so much cut grass lying on top that my husband was worried that it would kill the lawn, so our friend offered to lend us the sweeper.
It ended up being a TON of grass clippings, so we piled those out at the edge of the property by the bush where it could compost.
We weeded the garden, where it was shaded. Some of the radishes were ready. I don't know if you've had the pleasure of a true garden radish, but they have a lot more "heat" than the store radishes.
Then we took the lawn sweep back to our friends, and went to the park down the road. We walked along the edge of the lake. It's not groomed, it is a rough, weedy, mucky shoreline, but I like walking at that part of the park BECAUSE it is not a groomed trail. For most of it, you don't see other people or the camp sites or anything, and I like that.
At one point, we almost stepped on a fawn who was lying in the tall grass. It jumped up and ran away almost from under my foot. Roxy ran after it for about two seconds but recalled when I told her to leave it alone.
Then we came home and watched "Bad Boys". Not the one with Will Smith, the 1980's one with Sean Penn. It was pretty good, and it's kind of a shock to see how young he was. This movie was kind of the break out movie for him, and a few other actors that went on to good careers.
I painted for a while.
