Jun. 28th, 2021 02:25 amSomehow I seem to be dealing with this heat not too badly.
My sister texted me (the one whose husband died). She says she's taking it one day at a time right now. I'm glad her daughter and grand daughter can stay with her for a few weeks.
We unloaded some of the bales into the barn, and the rest of them stayed on the trailer for now, but we put the trailer into the barn.
I finally got a pony cart! I got talking to a woman on buy and sell (Facebook) who was selling a pony harness, and she also had a cart for sale that wasn't listed yet. She gave me her number and we talked for a while, and the cart sounded like it should work, so my sweetie and I drove to her place to have a look.
She was really nice, and took the time to show me some things about the harness and so on (I might get a different one after all), and learned a few things about the carts themselves, and why a different type of cart that I had been considering wasn't that good a choice. She has quite a few ponies, and does a lot of driving, and shows as well.
She offered to have come to her place a few times and drive one of her ponies and learn a bit about driving from her, and maybe that will happen. We'll see.
So we bought it, and I hope it's the right thing. It's tough learning from the beginning with something like this, because there is a lot to learn, and it's easy to get a few false starts with the equipment.
