Today I am grateful for:

Another cooler, overcast day.

The kids we saw at the lake a while ago stopped in with their Mom (it was their Grandma that was there at the lake) to say Hi. They have family that live right across the road from us, and they were in the area.

I feel a little odd with people dropping in, but I think they have good intentions. I was able to give them two life jackets meant for kids that were set aside at the dump (an area for things not garbage). They were pretty much new. These kids don't swim well yet, so they can wear them at the lake, or if we go canoeing.

My sweetie and I went to town to pay the property tax, and we picked up some of Jones' special food, a few movies from the store (yep, we still have one), and got groceries.

We came home and did a bit of work, mainly just reclaiming some wood from the basement used during construction so that we can use it outside to frame up our brick walkway. We also pulled some weeds.

We made some jam from the saskatoons we bought at the farmer's market a couple of days ago.

Then we watched "Misbehaviour", a movie about the Miss World 1970 beauty pageant, and the feminists that protested it. It was really interesting, because apparently this was the first time that a woman of color won the title. The movie did a good job of showing how the feminists viewed the pageant as objectifying women, while the women of color in the pageant viewed their participation in it as a triumph.
