Today I am grateful for:

My sweetie went into town to pick up the vinyl siding and the drywall sheets for the addition. This is a pretty big stage, because it will FEEL more finished, even though all of the other stages were really just as important.

I stopped in very briefly at an auction sale down the road, for a guy whose ethics about horses I always questioned. He kept a ton of horses in a very small, shitty pen, with shitty feed, and bred them to make mules. I know he got reported a few times, but it never seemed to make a difference. Mostly I was just curious to see what his yard looked like behind the trees and the gigantic (probably a pile bigger than most people's barns) pile of manure blocking the view. I satisfied my curiosity (lots of stuff everywhere, but nicer yard than I would have expected), and left.

We made a trip to the dump, which was satisfying as usual, because it feels good to toss out garbage and recycling. They had burned the wood pit recently, which is really surprising given how dry it's been this summer.

Then we hauled in all the drywall to the addition. Wow, that was a job.

Then I had a nap, because naps are important.

Then we watched "'Mississippi Grind", which is probably a reasonably accurate movie about gambling addiction, but still pretty depressing.
