Having my little car back. The mechanic dropped it off yesterday. He also left a portable air tank (for filling tires I guess?) in my car, so I still had to drive to his shop again today to drop it off. If I was a dick, I would make him come get it, but I like this guy so I took it back for him.
I did a bunch of small things again, the kind that all add up to life being a little nicer at the end of the day. I changed cat litter and put dishes away, swept the floor and did some laundry, made the bed up a little nicer than usual.
I went to see River, and saw people on their way out. At least I got a few minutes of conversation with real people.
River did well, we spent a fair bit of time on liberty/groundwork, but he seemed distracted again. He often does seem to be paying more attention to sounds outside the arena (it's just a big tent, really, so he can hear everything outside). He didn't do anything bad, but I didn't have his full attention and he wasn't all that relaxed. I did what R said to do, which is to hold his attention by changing direction lots, making him do things to make him think and to stay interesting. It helped.
His breathing seemed good tonight, so there's that.

I didn't do a lot today, just the usual chores associated with caring for the animals and myself.
I couldn't find a lot of motivation, so I read and napped a lot. Not always a bad thing.
I did watch the last of Season 3 Breaking Bad while I made a pair of very rudimentary mittens out of some pieces of fleece fabric. They'll work.
I also watched some MASH episodes, and WOW, is the gratuitous sexism kind of amazing to look at through the lens of current views! I wonder what it was actually like for nurses in the army at that time, would they really have been treated like objects like that? I feel like they would have gotten more respect.
