Aug. 6th, 2021 03:20 amGetting our winter's supply of hay delivered, and tucked away in the barn. It's a dry year here, and there will likely be a hay shortage. I am very grateful to have what should be enough hay to get through the winter, and to have a good place to store it. I am grateful to have a good hay guy, that does a great job of putting it in our barn, and makes good hay, and charges a reasonable price for it.
We had a nice chat with the hay guy. We pretty much only see him when we get hay from him, but we always stand around for half an hour or so and talk when he's here.
We decided to go to the city, since we needed a few things, and it was crazy hot today. Too hot really to get any work done outside.
Part of me felt off balance going to the city, because it was a spur of the moment decision, and it was late enough in the day that we would have to rush to do anything before it closed. I don't like that feeling of making such a spontaneous trip, and then rushing.
I have to say, we went to the aquarium store, and I got what I needed there, but I also just went in and out, and usually I love looking around. This store is a labor of love by someone who really loves aquariums, and they have several fully set up tanks that are masterpieces. I usually want to spend time there looking at them, because it's like going to some kind of zoo. Today I was grateful to get the part I needed for the turtle pump, but I wish I could have looked around.
We barely got to the art museum before it closed, and got about 45 minutes to look at the main attraction; a show of black artists in Edmonton, and some lino prints by Picasso. I felt the time pressure the whole time, and it made it less enjoyable.
We did make it to the art supply store, and at least I had enough time there, and they were open late so it didn't feel rushed.
Then we had to pick up sand grout for the brick walkway at a supply store. I got some plants.
We came home and I just wanted to sit outside for awhile, because I had done enough rushing for one day.
I am grateful for everything we got done today, and for seeing some art. I'm grateful to have a vehicle for all of this running around, and the means to do so.
