Sep. 21st, 2026 09:48 pmToday I am grateful for:
Okay sleep, but also grateful that I just got up when I woke, and didn't roll over for more snoozing, as I had things I wanted to do today.
I did my best to do animal care and personal hygiene in a timely fashion so I could get to town for groceries and other things.
I did okay for time. I got the vet clinic to pick up animal food in reasonable time to reduce time induced stress.
There was an especially adorable collie cross puppy there that was SO SWEET.
Yikes at pet food costs, as always.
Then I made it to pottery with some time to try to throw. Person A was there (she invited me to her home earlier this year, and I went, and at some point she is to come visit our place). We talked. She told mostly slightly odd stories about various mechanics attempting to rip her off over the years.
Then she mentioned that her husband who is a trucker for a water company is having what she calls "small strokes" where he is "okay, but loses his words" for a few minutes. He says his Grandmother had it, and didn't hurt her, so he's not going to a doctor about it.
I don't know exactly what he experienced, but small strokes aren't okay to ignore. Not if you're a truck driver for a living! Unfortunately, that's probably what he's worried about, is a doctor pulling his licence.
So I'm not sure what to say about that, but I will talk to her at some point about my thoughts. If HE wants to die that way, fine, but it never works like that. He would likely kill other people too, and that's not fair to anyone.
It's strange. She's a very nice person but everything she talks about seems...questionable. She's got such a strange perspective, and I know she's telling the truth as she knows it, but it doesn't feel...correct?
Anyhow, after throwing one nice looking bowl form, I cleaned up and headed out.
Then I went for a walk around the man made lake, and it was a beautiful day for a walk with lots of turning leaves and no bugs.
Then I went to Winner's and got a blouse I probably don't need. It was nice to see the "colorful" clerk working the till. I haven't seen her in a while, she says she's been working in the back more. She's been there since the store opened...ten years ago? She's doing well there as far as I can tell. She's always got hair that is very colorful and colorful clothes, and she's just very colorful and fun.
Then I got groceries, a little lighter haul today, still in shock over how much everything costs (and likely always will be now).
I am grateful to be able to buy groceries, to have the means, to be physically able, and to have a nice little car to make trips to town.
I'm grateful that my back and hips have been feeling better lately, though I'm sure it will come and go. Still, it's nice to have walks and run errands and feel pretty comfortable doing so.
I'm also glad we are finally having some nice weather. We had a cool, wet summer. When it wasn't humid and blazing hot. At least we are having a nice stretch of moderate warm days that are bright and sunny, with cool nights.
I came home and my Sweetie helped bring everything in and put it away. We ate, and chatted, but he didn't want to watch anything, just go to bed.
He's still not over whatever congestion thing he had this week, and he's probably still a bit sore all over from climbing.
