Today I am grateful for:

Going for fuel and chatting with the owner and a guy who used to live on the property next to us a few years ago.  He now lives in the small town closest to us, and he has a girlfriend now (which is nice, he looks more cared for).

I went for a walk at the park down the road.  In the parking lot I chatted with three guys who were likely at least in their 60's who were all out on their bikes for the day, enjoying the fall leaves.  They grew up in this area, and have remained friends their whole lives.  They now go on bike trips together all over the place.  I thought that was pretty cool.

I had a good walk with Roxy.  The leaves are wonderful, though you can tell it won't be long now before the trees are bare.  I let Roxy go off leash for a while, and she promptly rolled in something obnoxiously dead.  I tried washing her in the marsh, but it didn't do much, so I had to take her home in the car, smelling like that.

I did wash her as soon as we got home.

I spent most of the evening being really bored.  I haven't painted for a while, and it becomes this funny thing where it seems hard to start again.  Oh well.  I'll get over it at some point.

I did talk very briefly to Train Wreck sister, and she feels that there is no way the panel of people my other sister S talked about would say it was okay for Mom to go home.  I mentioned that I thought S was being odd about this, almost like she was holding out hope that Mom might go home, and Train Wreck agreed with me.  She's not sure what S is thinking either, but she didn't think it was possible for Mom to go home and be safe there either.

I had looked up what this panel process is about, and yes, there are apparently people who assess a person based on the doctor's recommendations and talking to family.  It is meant to prevent a person from being placed in a care facility before they really need to be there, because it really is giving up a lot of freedom, and I guess the health professionals would rather explore any other options first, like just getting home care etc.

Hans seems to be doing well after being neutered.  I'm not seeing any issues with the incisions, and he's back to playing with Jones.
