Oct. 1st, 2021 11:12 pmToday I am grateful for:
More sunshine and warmth. Beautiful stars at night.
I have been having issues with being bored, mainly because having little structure can mean it is hard to feel motivated to do anything. So you have to force yourself to do something just for the sake of not vegetating.
I forced myself to go prune dead branches out of the shrubs and roses for a while. There's more to do, but I got a good start.
I talked a bit with Train Wreck sister. She saw Mom yesterday in the hospital, and Mom is mainly in a wheel chair right now, though they are trying to get her to stand more. With her cracked pelvis it hurts a lot, but they want her to try and walk; it would heal faster if she did.
We talked about positive things too, which is good. I tried not to make the conversation too heavy, since it seems lately my calls with family have all been not much fun.
A neighbor who is living with HER elderly Mom right across the road from us is interested in riding my horses, except none of the ones at home are really broke/able to be ridden. If she wants, she can come groom them or something. We'll see. She can't come to the riding barn right now because of Covid.
I went to see River, and that was very relaxing tonight. I visited a bit with another rider; a girl who has a lot of health issues and mostly signs. We used R as a translator, and this girl mainly just expressed that she likes River, and that he's very tall and she's happy that she gets to ride on a smaller horse. We bumped elbows (instead of high five I guess?) and this is more interaction than I've ever had with her. I've thought about trying to learn some sign language so I could talk with her more.
River and I worked on our usual ground work, did some trot poles and worked on keeping his head in the correct position during transitions. He did well with that tonight.
