Today I am grateful for:

More warm weather for November.

I managed not to feel rushed when I got up (we were going into the city for the day), yet still got everything done that needed doing in order to properly leave the house.

We went to the big animal supply place, and I got a few horse-related items.

We went down town where the cool shops are, and looked around there.

Then we went to the BIG mall. We haven't been there for a couple of years now, what with Covid and all. I'm still not sure it was a great idea, but we are both double vaccinated and wearing masks, and everyone else was wearing masks, so...?

We were mainly there to go to the movie theater, to watch Dune. I was surprised that the assigned seating had us sitting right next to other people, but everyone had to prove that they had their shots first, at least. I had forgotten how absolutely crazy the endless advertising is before a movie. Really, we could have found out when the MOVIE started and just sat down a few minutes before that.

Dune itself was really good. I was worried about all the hype, and it not meeting my expectations (which I tried not to build too high). I think it did a very good job of presenting the material from the novels, without getting too bogged down in back story (the book can be a little heavy on the stuff about history and family lineage). The acting is great, and I thought I might find Timothee kind of annoying, but he was perfect for that role. The visual aspect and sound track are both very good too. Very much worth seeing for anyone interested in the novels, or in Sci-fi. If you liked Star Wars you'll like this.

Overall it was a fun day, and I'm sure it was a nice change for my husband too.
