Sunshine.
Getting to the pottery studio in good time. I mostly had a lot of trimming to do, cleaning up things I threw last week. So far the handle is staying on a mug I am working on; hard to tell how quickly things will dry in the new studio.
I did throw one "maybe" vase. We'll see how it trims up.
I am with a different group of people than two years ago, because I changed what day I come in. The people in these classes seem very set to staying on the same day, I guess because they form cliques and then they just always stay together. It's interesting, because when I was in Tuesday group, they were of a similar age and had been working together for many years. Now that I am in Monday, the same thing with these women. Yet, I haven't seen a group of people my age yet.
I spent most of tonight working with one other woman (everyone else went home super early). She has been the group President for a while now, and has done a lot of work to get our new studio running. I've talked to her a bit here and there over the years, and I've always thought she was a VERY nice person. Talking to her tonight just reinforces that impression. She is one of those people who is very committed to community endeavors, one of those people who is the glue of the fabric of society. Yet, very humble and kind, not the kind of person to do good things to get noticed, just knows that things need to be done.
I grabbed a few groceries on the way out of town.
Then I got sucked into a YouTube vortex, watching mostly "Conan" clips.
