Today I am grateful for:

My sweetie's help with the animals. There's just a little more work when it's this cold.

That if the tire on my car had to go flat, at least it was while my husband was home. We were on our way to town for groceries, and we pulled over. He was able to get the spare tire on, which is no mean feat in this cold. Then we drove home, started up his little car, and together we drove over to the nearby mechanic to leave my car with him while we took my husband's car to town.

The mechanic will try to figure out why the tire went flat, repair it if he can, and put it back on the car instead of the spare. I'm wondering at this point if there is a defect in the rims, because I have struggled with air pressure in the tires the whole time I've had this car. I think the tires aren't sealing onto the rims properly. I have to constantly check the tire pressure before I go anywhere, or the warning light often comes on half way to wherever I'm going.

My husband keeps pooh-poohing me when I tell him I am tired of fighting with the air pressure, but it isn't HIM who has to keep turning around to go home and fill the tires up if the light comes on, or who has to obsessively check the pressure with a gauge every time you want to go somewhere. It doesn't seem to matter if it's the summer tires or the winter tires, either. I am worried about being stranded somewhere with a flat. Today I was lucky because he was in the car. If it was me, I would have had to call a tow truck and try to find some way to get home to the animals.

We DID finally get to town. We needed groceries as we haven't been shopping for over a week, and with both of us home the whole time we ate down the fridge.

We also went to Winner's, as I wanted to see if there were any boxing day deals. I did get a sweater, we got some sheets on clearance, and my sweetie got a robe.

I also went to a different store for a proper pair of "nice" boots for town that were warmer than my little booties that I normally wear. Most of my warm winter boots are chore boots. I found a good pair that are kind of like winter hikers, that were not only on clearance but also an additional 25% off, so less than half the original price.

We briefly went to the pottery studio, and we were the only ones who showed up tonight (likely the cold again). I just trimmed some things I made last week, because that is quicker and easier to clean up.

We came home, and watched the new Bond movie. I saw it a while ago, but he hadn't.

Which leads to what I learned today. I was intrigued by a bridge in the movie, the one that looked like it leap-frogged across the ocean using little islands in between, so I looked it up. It is called the Altantic Ocean Road in Norway.
