Jan. 3rd, 2022 02:58 amToday I am grateful for:
Today is back to being fairly cold (-20C), but I can live with that. We were supposed to get up to -4C, but I guess not.
We decided to bring a kennel into the kitchen to feed Hans in there when we feed the cats. He is SO food-driven that he will steal everyone else's food, leaving me to be the villain by spraying him away, pushing him away, tossing him away, and I don't like having to do that, and his manners aren't improving.
It seems like just about every cat needs to be in a separate room just to make sure everyone gets their food. We started putting Fatty and Celeste in the sun room to protect them from Sprite, and Jones in the kitchen as long as you guard him. The dog has to be in the porch or she will steal everyone's food, and simultaneously everyone else will be trying to steal the dog food.
Sprite now has a slow-feeder, which seems to at least give everyone a shot at finishing their food. She used to be the top food-stealer until Hans showed up. She used to bolt her food, then run around stealing everyone else's food, then throw it all up. With the slow-feeder there is less vomiting.
I went to see River, and talked to another rider as she was leaving. River was a little distracted, but got more focused once we got going. He did well with our ground work/liberty, and I DID ride today. He seemed to enjoy the work and the movement, and was doing his happy groans.
My husband spent the day working on the drywall in the addition. This last day or two he is pushing to get done, since he didn't do much for the last two weeks. I'm doing my best not to say anything. I'm not sure that he will be able to finish it enough for me to call the mudder/taper this week.
We watched LOTS of "The Witcher" so we could finish season 2 before my husband has to go back to work tomorrow. I think I liked this season better than season 1, or maybe I'm just following it a little better.
I'm grateful that our cats mostly love at least one other cat in our group. They often curl up together, sometimes three of them, all cleaning and cuddling each other. Jones is loved by all the other cats, though sometimes Sprite doesn't like him because he plays too hard.
