Jan. 24th, 2022 12:26 amToday I am grateful for:
Beautiful warm weather for January.
That we got blankets for the horses at home. I never used to blanket the girls at home because I wasn't clipping them or riding them indoors (blankets keep them from growing a longer coat, so that they don't overheat if you ride much over the winter). Most of the time you don't NEED to blanket healthy horses, but they are now pretty old, and a little skinny, and that changes things.
I put the blankets on today because it was raining again, and even though it isn't that cold, horses can get pretty cold if soaking wet.
I went to see River, though it seemed to take forever for me to get there today. There seemed to be one hoop after another that I had to jump through before I could get there.
Anyhow, we had a good session. River was a bit distracted because it was right at when they should be getting fed, so his attention was on whether or not someone was outside yet doling out the hay. He still did really well on our Liberty work today, and pretty good under saddle, though he wasn't focused and giving his poll.
Saturday:
I managed to get to town and get the frozen cat food that most of the cats eat, barely, before the store closed.
I went to Micheal's, then Winner's.
Then I got some groceries.
I came home and painted for a while. I'm having a hard time liking anything I've painted recently, maybe because my expectations are getting higher.
I learned that there is a thing called Jamais Vu, like Deja Vu, but instead of thinking you've been in a situation before, Jamais Vu is the experience of feeling like you don't recognize a person or an object that are actually very familiar.
Jamais vu is most commonly experienced when a person momentarily does not recognize a word or, less commonly, a person or place, that they know.
